What was is that made you want to start working as a nanny at Nannyakuten?
I love working with children because they are quite easy and fun to be around. Nannyakuten allowed me to combine my love for children and the need to have a part time job into one.
Before you started to work with the family you got to meet them for a first meeting at their home. How did you feel before the meeting and how did you feel afterwards?
I was excited to meet them for the first time. It did not take very long for us to both realize that we would be a perfect fit for one another. We hit it off right away, they understood what I was looking for as an employer and I understood what they were looking for in a nanny.
What’s it like to work at Nannyakuten and how does a typical day look like?
It is very easy to work at Nannyakuten. A typical day involves picking the child up from pre-school, walking five minutes to his home, followed by making him a snack and keeping him entertained with coloring, reading, watching television, playing with his toys etc. )
How do you think the communication works between Nannyakuten as your employer and you as an employee?
The communication is great. If either I or the company have any questions or concerns, we can reach each other easily and solve the problem within an appropriate time frame either by e-mail or calling.
How would you describe your job as a nanny?
My job as a nanny is to provide a safe, caring, nurturing and stimulating environment in which the children thrive and develop. I find my job very fulfilling. It gives me a sense of purpose to mean so much to a child.
What is the best thing with your job as a nanny and what benefits do you think it brings you?
It gives me a chance to make a difference in the child’s life. To spend time with him and teach him things along the way. It also gives me a glimpse of how I would be as a mother in the future.
What are the challanges of working as a nanny?
I think the hardest part is becoming too attached to the child. The longer you babysit them, the more they become less like a job and more like family.
What are your best tips for becoming a popular nanny?
To become a popular nanny you need to be trustworthy, flexible, punctual, professional, friendly and above all fun!
